My daughter Jenin is at that age where everything goes in her mouth, gets pulled, or gets yanked off the wall. So when I went looking for a busy board, I needed something that would stay put.
The VEVOR Dog Activity Busy Board is heavy. I mean genuinely heavy — this is solid wood, not the lightweight MDF you see in most kids toys. That's good for durability but it means you need to mount it properly. Do not skimp on the screws and wall anchors. I used heavy-duty drywall anchors and it's rock solid.
Mounting tip
Use masking tape to mark the position on the wall before drilling. Hold the board up, level it (this is critical — if it's off by even a degree, the dog face will look crooked and it'll drive you crazy), and tape the outline. Then drill your pilot holes through the tape marks. Take your time on this step — rushing it is the one thing that'll make the result look bad.
The activities
There are 12 different things to fiddle with: latches, switches, gears, zippers, buckles, a spinning wheel, a door with a latch, and more. The variety is good — enough that she hasn't gotten bored with it. Her favorite is the latch that opens a little door, which she'll open and close a dozen times in a row.
The finish
The paint job is genuinely nice. It's a cute dog face with bright colors that pop against the wall. No sharp edges, everything is smooth to the touch. For $63 I was expecting something that looked cheap, but it doesn't — it looks like it belongs in a classroom.
A few weeks in
She plays with it every day. Multiple times a day. She'll walk over, fiddle with something for a few minutes, then move on to something else. It's held up perfectly — no loose parts, no chipped paint, nothing has broken off.
If I had one small complaint, it's that some of the activities are similar (a few different types of latches), so slightly more variety would be nice. But at this price, with this build quality, I'm not complaining.
